Don`t Give Up The Day Job Yet!

It seems that everyone these days is trying to break out of the vicious cycle and humdrum routine of the dreaded “Day Job”.
Let`s face it, not many employees enjoy getting up early every day, enduring an often frustrating, boring commute, just to be parked behind a desk from 9 till 5, doing the bidding of a demanding, ungrateful boss. The reward for this daily grind?A monthly paycheck that barely covers your living expenses and leaves you counting the days to the end of the month when you collect it. Ever seen a dog chasing it`s own tail? Remind you of anything or anybody?
So what can we do to change this situation? How can we get out of the rut and gain the independence and freedom we desire and deserve?Well, for an increasing number of people the answer lies with the internet.
The Internet has changed everything-and it`s only just the beginning!
There are many ways that an ordinary person can use the internet to make money.Whether you are looking to supplement your income with part-time work from home,or start an online business, the vast market that the web opens up to you make anything possible.
The internet has to be negotiated with caution, however. There are many pitfalls and many conmen out there. There are many so-called internet gurus offering you get rich quick schemes which promise you unlimited incomes for very little effort. Some of them may well work but be cautious, do some research and use common sense before committing yourself.
One of the objectives of this blog will be to help you and of course me to explore the internet and discover some methods and programs that we can use to turn the internet into income.
Probably the easiest way to make a start as a newbie is with affiliate marketing. This means you don`t have to develop any products of your own, with all the expense and expertise that may require.
As an affiliate marketer, you simply point surfers to a particular product or website, and then get a commission if a sale is made. Commission levels vary greatly, so you need to select carefully which companies or products you promote. A good way to start is with a review of a product you have personally used and can recommend. Having made a review website or blog, you can then place a link to the product on your page, having first signed up as an affiliate with the company involved.
The banner ad below is an example. I can recommend using Hostgator for hosting your blog or website, as I am personally using them and am very satisfied with their services. Say you were to click on the ad (please do!), visit the site, like what you see and decide to sign up, then I would get a commission as an affiliate of Hostgator. Simple. Once it is set up there`s nothing to do but collect the cheques, right? Not quite. The problem is the internet is vast so how are people going to find my website or blog in the first place?
Getting Traffic to your site is the key to affiliate marketing. More visitors equals more prospective buyers. So how do we get those visitors? That is a big subject which will be discussed in another post. In the meantime, don`t give up the day job!
